I'm ba-ack

Sorry that I got quite a bit behind on my blogging here. The holidays made things a bit crazy! So...I'm just going to skip over all that fun stuff and move on to some awesome pictures  from my recent Guatemala travels! I just got back on the 17th from a one-week brigade with Timmy and the Tufts chapter.

Check out these wonderfully colorful shots of some of our patients waiting in line to be seen in Xeabaj.

Here's one of our students taking a pulse at our triage station.

Chatting with Dr. Brenda. Please note that James, on Brenda's left translated Spanish-English, while the girl directly across from James translated Spanish-Quiche. Crazy, huh!

This is the beautiful country side in our newest partner community, Pujijil (pronounce the "j's" like "h's" and you've got it!).

And this is pretty tourist-y of me, but everyone loves this arch in Antigua, Guatemala. It's one of those signature sights, but I just thought this photo turned out too pretty to not pass it along!

Last little picture...allow me to translate the gist. This is a sign in the Guatemalan airport explaining that passengers are allowed one small carry-on item and one personal item. In the list of what might constitute a personal item: personal computer...video camera bag...or a bag of POLLO CAMPERO. Haha. All the Guatemalans seem to ADORE Pollo Campero (which is kind of like Guatemalan KFC) and they seem so sad about leaving it, that you ALWAYS see people carrying bags of Pollo Campero on planes. Apparently it happens frequently enough that it made the airport sign.
